RBTT upgrades to Datastore32

In 1997 RBTT implemented the “DataStore for Windows” data archiving solution from Hitec Laboratories in the UK, which is distributed and supported by Savannah Computing. This was the solution of choice for RBTT Bank.

"We discovered an obvious need to improve access to data, improve the turnaround time associated with retrieval and most importantly to improve our response levels to our customers. Based on this we decided that we needed a solution that would fulfil all these needs and so in 1997 DataStore for Windows was installed.” Commented David Fortune, Senior Manager Systems & Operations at the time.

All of RBTT Bank's Trinidad offices are networked to various servers placed strategically, allowing for immediate and multi-user access to the system.

Over the years RBTT was satisfied with the benefits of the DataStore® product and have agreed to upgrade to DataStore32 (DS32), which has been in production since March.

The new DataStore32 product integrates COLD and PDF archiving with Internet access allowing users to retrieve data from anywhere in the extensive RBTT network.

“Because the information is available on our Intranet, there is no limit to the number of users who can get access to the data at the same time without the need for any client software install or maintenance”, says Cyril Myers, Senior Manager – Information Planning.

DS32 is also capable of archiving and indexing the document images, native PDF documents, MS Office documents (WORD, Excel, PPT and Email) as well as computer printed reports (COLD).
